HTC G2 already
Not long has the HTC G1 been released, when the HTC G2 pops up with a European release in April 2009 on the Vodafone network. Being a touchscreen phone, there will no doubt be comparisons drawn against all the other ones out there. No news on a US release date, although phone availabilty across the pond isn’t exactly great. Presumably AT&T won’t be picking this up since it would step into iPhone territory and Mr Jobs won’t be best pleased. So maybe T-Mobile US…
I am looking at the pictures now, and it still doesn’t give me the va-va-v00m factor I get when I look and hold the Touch HD. I prefer to have minimal button arrangement, with the front of the phone using up 90%+ for the screen. As you can see on the G2, the bottom half is taken up by button space which I don’t think is necessary. I guess that could be me nitpicking, but I am extremely fussy when it comes to technology. It still looks quite nice though.
I need to pop down to the T-Mobile store this weekend so I can see what Android is all about. I am hoping it lives up the the hype.
