Tony Hart – a little dedication
Tony Hart, who inspired millions of young children with his art TV shows has passed away. When I was a kid, I used to watch his programs avidly. I even submitted one of my drawings to Hartbeat but it never got picked for the gallery, probably because I had as much art direction as a catatonic shrimp. Nevertheless, I loved all his creations and they were always so simple…. using everyday things around the house. And of course how can you forget Morph, our beloved plastacine friend. Later on they introduced Chaz, I liked how sadistic he was to Morph with the multitude of abusive techniques. There was always a hint of, do not try this at home, just in case.

The dynamic plastacine duo, Morph and Chaz
After many years I wondered how it was all done, I wanted to make my own Morph and Chaz. So I played around with 3D Studio, back then it wasn’t as nice as 3D Studio Max and it all ran from DOS. I had no idea what I was doing but me being me, you learn through trial and error. It’s funny how childhood memories are left engrained in one’s mind, and this is no different. Even though Tony Hart is no longer with us, his achievements and the fondness for his television programs will stay for years to come.
